The event takes place in the centre of Eindhoven, within walking distance of the train and bus stations. Due to the large scale of Marathon Eindhoven, the city centre will not be easily accessible by car on Sunday, 7th October. We therefore recommend that you come by public transport. Check, and/or to plan your trip by train or bus. Would you rather come by car? Then please bear in mind that a number of traffic measures will be taken in and around Eindhoven on the day of the marathon.

Participants of the marathon have to wear a chest and a back number. In this case it is important to wear the medical data on the chest side.

For people from Eindhoven and surroundings, the centre is best reached by bicycle. There are various (paid) bicycle parking facilities, NS station south side (Stationsplein) or NS station north side (Neckerspoel).

In the event the participant in the ‘Marathon’ or ‘Half Marathon’ has opted for a cancellation insurance, he or she can claim the paid registration fee and any paid extras up to 30 calendar days prior to the event free of charge. Any payments made to a charitable cause, Energy Lab and the cancellation insurance (this being € 5.00) will not be refunded. In the event a participant in the component ’10 km’, ‘5 km’, '5K4ALL' or ‘1 Mile’ is unable to participate in the event, the registration fee paid will not be refunded. Also in the event the distance for which a participant has registered is changed, the registration fee, or part thereof, will not be refunded. Changing to a longer distance is possible provided that the difference in price is paid.

Business Run

Every year over 2,500 people participate in the Company Run. The Business Run is the event that is particularly suitable to put your company in the spotlights. Take part in the Company Run together with your colleagues and give the team spirit a boost. Train together and encourage each other to make it to that coveted finish line! Especially for companies, there are changing facilities in ‘The Hub’, Vestdijk 25, where you can also safely store your belongings. These clothing bags (provided with a start number) remain in safe-keeping until 5:30 pm. Furthermore, there are an information desk and the possibility to have pictures taken of all teams.

During the 34rd edition of the Marathon Eindhoven there will be care stands with sports drinks and water on the following points: 5K, 10K, 20K, 25K, 30K, 35K and 40K. At the 30 k point there will be provided AA Drink “energy gel” too. Besides there will be water stands (water cups and sponges) on the following points; 12,5K, 17,5K, 22, K, 27,5K, 32,5K and 37,5K. Directly after the finish there will be also AA Drink sports drink, water and fruit available.

The organiser classifies the participant into a race category based on gender and age on the day of the event. Just like previous years there are cash prizes per age category. Masters can make known that they want to participate in the senior category. You can only participate in one category (either senior or master).

Changing and showering facilities

On Sunday, 8 October, all changing facilities, medical facilities and the clothing storage will be set up in the Beursgebouw. After the race you have the opportunity to take a shower there too.

All care stands along the course provide sports drinks and water. There are aid stations every 5 km along the route. Every aid station has water and AA Drink Iso-Lemon.

Finish certificate

After the race, all participants can download a free certificate via the website.

Medal engraving

Do you want a unique personal memento of your participation? The medal you receive can be made even more special after the finish. In the Beursgebouw, Winterman Sport offers all the participants the opportunity to have their name and performance engraved on the back of their medal. This only takes a moment and costs € 6,50 with your registration and € 8.00 on the day itself.

Medical assistance

There are two main medical stations along the course with the required equipment (plus one at the Beursgebouw), various Red Cross/first aid stations, four ambulances which, if necessary, can be deployed immediately, two motorcycle ambulances (motorcycles with all the required medical equipment are mainly used in the city centre) with an expert medical driver and a co-driver and twenty heart defibrillators.

The medical organisation is managed by and coordinated from the main medical station. The emergency room of the Area Health Authorities (GGD) manages the deployment of the ambulances and the motorcycle ambulances.

The names and data of all the participants are directly available from the database. In the case of an emergency, important personal medical data (filled in on the registration form) are passed on to the ambulance or the medical station.

The medical stations register accurately which emergencies arrive at the medical stations and who has to be transported to which hospital in the case of an emergency. These data are analysed, so that we can be of even better assistance in future years. The Athletics Union has started to use AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) at medium to large running events in collaboration with Procardio. It has been found that the threshold to start running has become increasingly lower. Running is now a recognised way of contributing to a healthy and fit lifestyle. On Sunday, 11 October, twenty heart defibrillators (AEDs) will be placed along the course. This way, the risk of death due to cardiac arrest during running can be limited.

Marathon Eindhoven 6 hours (21K within 3 hours)
Half Marathon 3 hours

Time registration

The time registration of all running distances is done with the MyLaps BibTag. This chip ensures accurate time registration. We have two requirements for the use of this chip. The chip is applied to the back of the start number and may not be removed or covered with tape. Moreover, no garments may be worn over the start number and the chip. You can keep the start number and the chip after the race as a memento. The chip is not reusable for other events. It is not possible to run using your own chip. There are time displays at all 5-km points of the course and at the finish. The kilometre points are indicated by means of beach flags at the side of the road.

There are toilets at the changing facilities, the start, the finish, and at strategic locations along the course.
