"For the thousands of runners who have been looking forward to 'Eindhoven' and all other parts for so long, this is great news," says Mario Kadiks, CEO of organizer Golazo. “We are now going to continue discussions with the municipality about some possible adjustments to guarantee the safety of our festive event. Barring unforeseen circumstances, nothing stands in the way of a successful Eindhoven Marathon".

In recent years, the Eindhoven Marathon has developed into a (top) sporting event and friendly celebration. It has a beautiful fast course and is innovative in many ways. In 2019, the running event had a total of 23,500 registrations. The charity of the Eindhoven Marathon this year is KWF Kankerbestrijding. Participants can make a donation to this charity when registering.

Stijn Steenbakkers: ,,In the sports vision we have included the ambition to enable all residents to exercise enough and to organize a number of major sport events. Sport events and specifically the marathon weekend have an important role in this. For every athlete there is an opportunity to participate at his or her level. So I hope to see many residents running or walking during the marathon weekend!”

On Sunday, October 10, the following events are scheduled: marathon, half marathon, Jumbo 10K Run, Aon City Run 5K, Mini Marathon 1.6K. There are also various business runs. The Saturday before starts with the Renewi Plogging Run (in which the marathon course is cleared of litter by jogging) and the rest of the day is reserved for walking a course of 12 and 18 kilometers and a new initiative: Your Marathon Challenge.

Mario Kadiks: ,,It's great that everything can continue now. Just like the runners who are so enthusiastic about the Eindhoven Marathon, we had to wait a long time for it. It will be a special, unforgettable weekend on the 9th and 10th of October.”
